Gaming Headsets
So I need to buy a new headset, my old ones died and my backup pair are unconformtable.
I am willing to spend a bit if its worth the money.
I was leaning towards the Razer Carcharias, but was talking with someon on TS a few nights ago that had a Razer headset and said they sound great but the voice audio quality it kinda crap. I think it was shuhac, which does sound like crap on TS, always static background noise.
I have read a couple reviews and often these Astro A40's come out on top, they look pretty awesome, but there are really expensive! Anyone tried them before?

Also NCIX has a sale on right now, a really good deal on Razer Barracuda HP-1, $71 off the normal price!!

yes....no i don't use a head set. I'm using a plantronics and its working fine. Had it for over a year now and its always sounded and worked good. Of course it covers and goes around my ears.

I vouch for the Tritton ax pc pro as well, best thing I bought when it comes to sound. The bass when firing the tank weapons and when bombs fall is just amazing.

A few days ago I just bought the Logitech G330 headset. So far I'm happy with it. I'm not noticing much difference in quality from what I was using before (jury rigged, headphones, with the mic from my old headset, which I'd cut apart so I could just slide it into the handle of the headphones).
But that being said everything's coming out nice and clear, there's onboard volume control and a mic muting button and I prefer behind the head for gaming. The silicone lining is nice and comfy and its a lot lighter then what I'm using now. The G330 also has both the standard mic/headphone plus but also a USB adapter should I want to plug it in that way.
I'm going to try that out in the next couple of days and see if there's a quality difference.
The G330 was selling for $79.99 at Best Buy but only $49.99 at Futureshop.
