So, 2.0 has been released to the general public (ie, those with Alpha/Beta packages), and included is the mini Universe with a handful of systems. It'll give you a better feel for what the game is going to be.

Even if the only ship package you have isn't flyable yet, they give you a ship you can use.
In my case, I can fly my Hornet Ghost, but instead of a Freelancer they gave me a Connie. Freelancer is due to be patched in soon™.

So I have run a few missions and its amazing ... just need to get the joining a server sorted ... soon very soon ...

Right so 3.9 is out and the persistent universe is starting this patch .....
